Panda gloves

Some time back a friend of mine asked me to make panda gloves for his girlfriend. It was a time I was very much into fingerless mittens, so the project was even more exciting.

I decided to knit them instead of crocheting, to make the wool feel softer and be a little bit more stretchy, as I didn't know what size they should be.

I started with a simple knitted square, sewn it together, added crochet edge, eyes and face. They came out really, really cute ^^

Around the same time another friend of mine asked me to make a panda toy for her ( I guess pandas were really in around this time :P). I started it, hell, I almost finished it. Almost. The wool was very thick and tough, the toy was suppose to be cuddly and fluffy, this one would ended up more like a door step. I wasn't happy with were it was going.




Years went by and I was still not finishing the panda. But one day, I decided that this is the moment to start something new and that's how I ended up with this little fella:
