Love addiction

Welcome back!!!

It's been a  while... I have been on a great holidays, then I got caught up at work and I was coming back home so tired, that I couldn't even think straight. But now everything calmed down again and I have a little bit of extra time to finally show you what I have been doing for all this time.

Actually, no. I will show you today, what I did before, when I lived in Aberdeen. I will show you new stuff soon though, as it is all connected.

Just before I left Aberdeen I found on Pinterest ( <3 ) a very simple way to make the cutest hearts ever. By the time I was leaving Scotland I made around 50. They look really good ( if they not, it just means I am a lousy photographer) so I decided to make some more, as last month I ordered a bunch (2 kg!) of red wool. As those hearts are  a perfect home decoration, I thought they will be perfect for a Christmas tree too, so I am gonna make some red & green, or red & sparkly. Yes, I know it's only the end of July, but I just started about preparing for Christmas and I can't help it. Maybe it's the heat. 35 degrees every day for the last couple of weeks is not cool. Not cool at all.

Cute, huh? I'm gonna make some more in red and I will try to make a bit better photos.

Apart from hearts, I've been making tons of other things, I had my first real market stall at the tournament here and I was thrilled to realise how kids loved my bracelets (will show them in next post) and adults actually liked my mobile pouches.

I must say - I was really scared, that I am gonna stay there and be all laughed at, but nothing like this ever happened. Amazing. I am starting to believe that my stuff actually looks good and people like it. A little bit more and I will be brave enough to open and promote a shop on Etsy ;)

Crafty crafting

One of my socks had a hole in it :( What a sad day. Usually they are being eaten by the Laundry Monster. This is a really good end for a sock. But a hole? I couldn't trow it out to the bin. She would be so lonely in there. Therefor I came out with an idea: socket pouch for a mobile!

I actually might do more of those pouches, but don't have any more holly (;) ) socks. Anybody care to help with it? Socks recycling might be a great idea :D Or is it upcycling? I never know what the difference is...

I thought I will show you how I work. There is a stash of various wool colours, scissors, headphones (to listen audiobooks when I crochet) and lots of little flowers I make, when I am bored with crocheting boring stuff.

And here is my little helper! He sits behind me on the sofa and watches what I do :)

Granny squares

I love granny squares.

I got this book from my boyfriend, I think for Women's Day (8th of March) a year ago. First thing I made from it - of course - granny squares! They ended up in a couple of projects: a bag, an unfinished blanket (oh, well) and some of them ended up as coasters at my friends house.

This was suppose to be a blanket. Damn my patience.

I finally made a blanket though. It took ages, but it was with me through most of our time in UK. No idea what I did with it at the end. Did I give to to anybody? Did I pack it? Threw it out? Anybody?

And there it is, in a middle of hovering :P

This is one of my favorite shawls I have - it's so warm and cosy!

This pillow unfortunately ended up in a bin, as it was to scruffy :(

And I was trying to make square a day challenge. It lasted two days.

Here is my stash of granny squares. was trying to put it together as a blanket, but had to pack it up before I had a chance to start.

This one I actually use, one of my favorite bags I made. Unfortunately I didn't know at the time that wool stretches REALLY badly. Need something else as a handle material in the future (wooden handles are too expensive).

and last but not least: my granny squares infinity scarves - I wear them all the time. I actually have some more, need to get better pictures though :)
