Crochet in Paris

I actually wish I could be in Paris right now. Maybe not on Eiffel Tower, oh no (I am terrified of hights!). But I would love to sit on Montmartre in front of Sacre Coeur and just enjoy being there again.

Have you been to Paris?

Anyways, I am thinking about Paris, as I got those cute buttons with an Eiffel Tower on them:

As you can see I have made a bracelet with them (yeah, I know, I am addicted to making bracelets recently).

This bracelet came out surprisingly good. I only got this wool, as it was in a set with two other colours I really liked. This one stayed in my stash for around 2 years, before I finally decided to do something with it and.... I was really positively surprised. It came out great once crocheting. It took me a while to choose a button for her and then I noticed the Eiffel Tower one. And it was it. It brightened up nicely all the dark parts.

As I really enjoyed working with this wool I decided to made wider bracelet, more cuff like.

Once I finished I realised that this button is to small for it. I had a look through all big buttons I have and founf something just perfect:

It looks so great with jeans and a tank top or a black t-shirt. I have made just a couple, but they are still available on Etsy here.

I'm blue

Even though I am not feeling blue, that song sometimes just stucks in my head and doesn't want to get out!

Therefore there are some blue bracelets for you today.

They are made in the same way as the ones posted last week.

I have made plenty with a red flower button, but then looked at the teddy button and realized I had it all wrong :) Teddy button is so cute!

What I love about those bracelets the most is that they can fit anyone. you can change the size by simply pulling the strings :)

Again, bracelets are available through Etsy here.

Tough

I am tough now! :) Last week they put me in the cast for the extra 3 weeks. I was terrified- 4 weeks without crochetting?? What??

I asked fellow crocheters on Reddit if they could crochet me a cast cover, but unfortunately it was decided that this is to big project.

I was really sad.

But then I thought - I can crochet! I will do it! It took me a moment and I do look kinda silly, tilted and all when I crochet, but I do it!

All I am able to do is just the basic granny square, but hey. I can make a huge blanket out of them once I have bought hands free, right? :)

That's just a small sample of my available colours :)

Sunday board

Starting today I will be posting yarn related board or poster every Sunday. They keep me motivated, especially when they show me, that I am not the only one with those problems:

Neon bracelets

I have like a thousands of buttons right now, so I decided to make some cute jewelry with them. Using just a simple crochet chain and putting a button on top of it, I created bracelets which were very popular among all the kids at the tournament last month.

And well... me. I love wearing the pink and green neon bracelets together. They look amazing!

They are both available on Etsy here.

I must tell you - I was terrified going out with my crochet and selling it to people for the first time. But it was so worth it!

Colour palette

When you crochet for someone else, not for yourself, choosing the right color is the key. As I decided to start selling handmade housewares, I decided on neutral colour palette, which will fit every house.

Do you like it?

Starting today I am going to spend every Monday morning on sourcing colours and yarns to fit my little Etsy shop and share it with you. Maybe this way I will inspire someone else too.

Horse mobile covers

Do you remember mobile covers I was making for the tournament some time ago? Well, I decided to put remaining ones on Etsy, but let me know if you would like me to make a custom one for you.

My today's work. I really have no idea what to tell you anymore. I just keep crochetting.

Time for matching coasters, going back to work :)

Stiffened, ironed and super cool

I have made doilies before, but I had never ever used anything to stiffened it. Now I decided to use something, which our grandmas were using for stiffening sheets and so on - starch. It is so simple!

All you have to do is to mix potato flour and water and cook it together. I am not sure if you can get it in normal shop in UK, I have never seen it there, but honestly - I wasn't looking. If it's not there, any Polish shop in your neighborhood will have it :)

Again: it is so cool!

I have also made and stiffened a couple of coasters to match my doily:

These coasters were so easy to make:

start with a magic ring
8 single crochet in the ring
2 s. cr. in each s. cr.
db cr, ch 1 in each s cr
db cr, ch 1; 2 db cr, ch 1;
3 s cr, 2 s cr in each ch 1 and in betweeen db cr
ch 3, s cr in every second s cr

Not sure, if it makes sense, but hope you will make it out - it is very simple to make :)

Winter's coming

I wish it was, this 30  plus degrees everyday is not fun at all.

I had a little photoshoot yesterday. Will show you the results soon :)
